The path will turn away from the trailhead and climb up to the rock spire for which the park is named. Saw a western diamondback rattlesnake near emergency marker #90. Went ~7:30AM, parking was accesible and there was a good amount of shade on the mountain.Trail has great views of north Scottsdale, well maintained trail, usually a little crowded. The trail reaches a campsite at 3.2 miles. Once you get to the forest trail there are a few spots where I wondered if it was the trail. The way down: ran down the opposite side of the trail, and down the horse trail to the parking lot.Well-maintained parking and trail, but the drive was more beautiful than the actual views of this hike, bathrooms inaccessible. Pretty setting for a good workout. The other reviews are accurate that there are no jaw dropping views.Great hike.
